Why is my white gold ring turning yellow?Updated 2 months ago
White gold is naturally a warm, yellow-grey metal. White gold jewellery is generally plated in an outer coating of another metal, called rhodium, to give it a bright, white lustre.
Over time rhodium will naturally wear away, revealing the warmer, darker metal underneath. Is this normal and unavoidable, but may be most noticeable between the fingers, on the inside of the band, or on the tops of claws.
At this point it is likely your ring requires rhodium plating again. This service is included as a part of the complimentary annual service & clean on all LOUISE JEAN rings, but can also be added at any other time for a fee.
The frequency that you require your rings rhodium plated is a personal preference, and may be more frequent than annually depending on how you wear your rings.
