What is diamond certification?Updated 2 months ago
Diamond certificates, or grading reports, are issued by accredited gemological laboratories, such as the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) or International Gemological Institute (IGI). The diamond certificates contain information and grades for each of a diamond's characteristics based on the 4Cs – carat weight, color, clarity, and cut quality.
Diamond certification is essential for any diamond because it verifies and describes what it is you’re buying. It forms the basis for the diamond’s price or value.
We only work with certified diamonds. Most diamond certifications can be viewed online/digitally, but all clients will receive the physical copy of their diamond certificate with their finished piece. They are often required for insurance purposes.
Most diamond certificates cannot be replaced - there is only ever one copy.
