What is diamond Carat?Updated 2 months ago
Carat is a measurement of the weight of any diamond. This is the primary factor that determines the value of a diamond. As the carat weight increases, the more rare the stone, and therefore the more valuable.
Carat weight is given in a number to two decimal places, with the abbreviation ct.
For example, 1.25ct.
It’s important to note that every diamond will still be unique in its dimensions. Even diamonds of the same shape and carat weight will have completely different lengths, widths and depths.
