What is the difference between the Ceremonial and Classic designs?Updated 2 months ago
Both Ceremonial and Classic designs are solitaire setting styles, available in any stone shape and size.
Design
Our Ceremonial Solitaire is a refined silhouette that showcases your diamond in a simple, minimalist basket setting.
Our Classic Solitaire takes inspiration from a traditional cathedral silhouette, with its fine shoulders that gracefully taper upwards as they meet the diamond centrepiece.
Band Width
The Ceremonial Solitaire setting is crafted with a minimum 1.6mm band width, which remains the same width the entire way around the shank.
The Classic Solitaire is crafted with a band beginning from 1.8mm and tapering slightly as it approaches the stone.
Both designs are available in a wider band widths if preferred or required.
Band Profile
The Ceremonial Solitaire can be made in your choice of band profile. View these in more detail here.
The Classic Solitaire is crafted with a fine half-round band profile.
Ring Height
Both Ceremonial and Classic Solitaire designs are equal in height. They are considered high-profile designs.
Stacking
There are no differences between the two solitaire settings when it comes to stacking with our wedding bands, which have been carefully designed to stack in many combinations.
Support
There is little difference in the structural support of either design, and both require the same level of care.
Due to the design of our Classic Solitaire, your centre stone will structurally have an added barrier that supports the rail (the seat that the diamond is set on). This may be preferable for those who are heavy-handed, or for very large stone sizes.
